Candidate Gun Quotes:
Quote #1:
MUST WATCH VIDEO: Linda Waite-Simpson IN HER OWN WORDS:
The concept behind H.124 was to BAN HANDGUNS.
At the very beginning of the vid, she says 'If you look at the breadth of the mass shooting over the last three decades or so, the common denominator is the SEMI-AUTOMATIC HANDGUN, much more so than the, what's been defined as an "assault weapon".
From the last 30 seconds of video: We have to start somewhere, we have to take the first step!

2.) Require NIC check at gun shows (already being done voluntarily)
3.) Allow Vermont officers to enforce Federal law.
4.) Require registration and training for 'concealed carry'.
5.) Require all mental health professionals to report to NIC.
6.) Repeal prohibition on sale or use of silencers (threw us a bone on that one).
Article #3:
Proposed H.125:
This bill proposes to establish a repository for the disposition of unlawful firearms, a firearm safety training center, and an indoor firing range for law enforcement officials.
Article #4:
Proposed H.243 (firearms regulation - illegal under the Vermont Constitution):

Article #5:
Proposed H.413 (PASSED as Act 181):
Title 'AN ACT RELATING TO THE UNIFORM COLLATERAL CONSEQUENCES OF CONVICTION ACT'
This is a scary bill that again, slipped right through under everyone's noses.
Broad terms like 'Mandatory sanction', 'Offense' means a felony, misdemeanor, or delinquent act under the laws of this State, another state, or the United States, again, out of state law and federal law now control Vermont law.
This law does not provide a basis for invalidating a plea, conviction, or sentence.

Here's a summary of a bill that 12 VT House Reps introduced in the wake of the Sandy Hook slaughter. It is modest compared to actions taken by neighboring states. We can no longer afford to ignore the increasing number of incidents of gun violence in our beautiful state.

Please read the comments from the PRO-2A posters: Dennis Carman and Bob DePino, as they dispel the need for H.124.
