MARCIA HORNE
2nd Amendment Stance: RABIDLY ANTI-GUN
District: Essex-Orleans Senate
(Vote for 2)
Contest: For State Senator
Party: Republican

2nd Amendment Stance, Legislative Action and Voting History:
WARNING: Candidate wants MANDATORY REGISTRATION and YEARLY CHECK to make sure you still have your firearms!
Wants to enact unconstitutional law to enforce gun control.

Additional Comments: WARNING: Probably the 2nd most anti-gun politician running for office in 2014!

Has a SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY WORD statement on what gun control see WILL enact in Vermont!

Synopsis: "I intend to propose legislation to make mandatory a yearly gun check, the cost, of which, to be assumed by gun owners. The permit application, yearly gun check will include a fee to cover the cost.

I feel that improving conditions concerning gun control is imperative for the purpose of providing safety to our townships, our schools and the mountainous country that we all adore.

I intend to propose legislation to set forth mandatory minimum sentencing for those found guilty to voluntary manslaughter, second degree and first degree murder."

(Comment) Mandatory Minimum Sentencing is what is used in states like Massachusetts to enforce gun control. No matter what the infraction, it is mandatory jail time and felony charges.

Candidate Gun Quotes:
Quote #1:
SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY WORD DISSERTATION ON WHAT GUN CONTROL SHE WILL ENACT IN VERMONT:

I know that a number of Vermonters might not like the idea, however, those that have migrated to the state over these past several years might not be aware that "Vermont Carry" exists and perhaps wouldn't mind some changes. (COMMENT: Changing Vermont law and restricting Constitutional Rights so people moving here can 'feel safer'?!?)

It is my contention that governing bodies need to be informed of ownership of guns, in its entirety. Guns are lethal weapons.
Gun registration for initial sales, as well as a yearly gun check and state imposed regulation that would include referencing any sale or transfer to include the new owner's information- would be tremendously helpful.
Quote #2:
Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement

I intend to propose legislation to make mandatory a yearly gun check that would include a mandatory registration of primary and secondary hand gun transfers, the cost, of which, to be assumed by the purchasers of hand guns. The yearly gun check/second hand transfer will also include a fee to cover the cost.

I feel that improving conditions concerning gun control is imperative for the purpose of providing safety to our townships, our schools and the mountainous country that we all adore.

"Vermont Carry" will continue, as people will continue to be free to exhibit their freedom to carry a gun without a permit/registration form, openly or concealed, meanwhile, governing bodies will be informed.

I intend to propose legislation to set forth mandatory minimum sentencing for those found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, second degree and first degree murder.

WARNING: You heard it, MANDATORY REGISTRATION and YEARLY CHECKS (that you have to pay for) to make sure you still have all the guns you registered!
