7/8/18: When it came to the issue of gun safety, Hashim, who is a Vermont State Police trooper, said he favored a more extensive background check requirement, and waiting periods.
He said gun safety would help prevent suicides as well.
"I've seen a lot of gun violations in Vermont," he said, with some experiences "burned in my memory."
Safety in the schools should be increased, he said.
