Details: Charges were filed against an Elmore man, Isaak Draper, for one and a quarter pounds of marijuana found in his home.
In the execution of a search warrant for a stolen camera, 14 firearms (NOT stolen, valued by a local gun dealer at $12,000) were taken by the police during the search.
Morristown Police Chief Keith said the guns were taken because some marijuana was found in the gun box where the guns were stored.
None of the guns seized are considered illegal to be owned, although the News and Citizen is reporting that the Morristown Police stated that most were "military style" with "high capacity magazines".
Per the News & Citizen: "Chief Keith said the case could be turned over to federal authorities because of the time needed to fully investigate. He said depending on the outcome of the investigation the guns could be returned to Draper, until, if and when, there was a conviction or the feds could seize the guns at which time they would be destroyed."
It is curious how a police department goes through all the trouble to get a warrant for a stolen CAMERA, only to find drugs and guns. What are we not being told?
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
