Details: Barre Police say they responded to Gusto’s Bar on Prospect Street for a reported "unwanted customer in the parking lot". Edward Bennett (40) of Calais was involved in a fight with an unnamed group of men, "when police got there Bennett was on the ground and some guys were walking away, authorities said". While police were talking to both parties, Bennett's nephew, Justin Grant (22), retreived a Hi-Point, Model 996, 9mm carbine and fired one shot into the air. Police were able to tackle Grant and disarm him. He is charged with reckless endangerment. COMMENDATIONS should go to the Barre officers who disarmed the young man without firing their sidearms! Burlington Police should train with the Barre officers... GunSense again makes the shooting look "random" saying gun was fired near "onlookers". |
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it. |
