Details: Timothy Phelps, 23, of Royalton, and his friend Charles Manby confronted a couple (Samantha and Carson Mashler) on their property in South Royalton over a "romantic interest" of Manby's.
Manby attacked the husband, Carson, giving him a black eye.
Phelps, pointed a firearm at Samantha Mashler and her husband and cocked the hammer.
The couple had attempted to defend themselves with a taser (which failed to function) and a glass bottle.
A neighbor ran up shouting the police were ont heir way and the pair fled the scene.
Phelps had been arrested and charged with drug distribution in April 2014.
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
