Details: The grandmother of a 17 month-old girl, accidently left a loaded firearm in a diaper bag when dropping her off at her day care.
Each article states different facts, as the authorities were notified by annonomous caller, yet the Huffington Post states "The daycare owner told authorities the child found the gun in the bag, took it out and started walking around with it," and the Burlington Free Press states "Police said they learned about the gun Thursday via an anonymous tip and contacted the day care center's owner, Ivy Crowe.".
Well, if the Vermont State Police contacted the owner, it wasn't the owner who witnessed the incident.
Regardless, the owner of the firearm was properly secured in a holster with retention strap.
The center implemented a new policy that forbids leaving diaper bags or backpacks at the center. Funny, I've never heard of any daycare that allows children ANY ACCESS to diaper bags. Many parents leave medicines for the children with the daycare providers.
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
