Details: LEO Shooting: A White River man, Jose Burgos, was taken to the hospital and a Claremont woman were arrested after a pursuit which began in Windsor, VT and ended in Claremont, NH.
Windsor Police had set up a drug bust sting in a parking area off RT 5 in Windsor to catch Brittany Smith, a NEW HAMPSHIRE resident. During the encounter one officer, Ryan Palmer, discharged his duty weapon and shot the driver, Jose Burgos, in the arm.
Burgos with his passenger, Smith, 25, of Claremont, fled and the Windsor and Weathersfield Police Departments pursued his vehicle into Claremont, NH. Spike strips were deployed by Claremont PD but were unsuccessful. However, Burgos was later stopped on North Street by police vehicles.
Burgos had an active arrest warrant from Windsor County VT for Escape and Brittany Smith had two active arrest warrants from NH for Sale of Heroin and Identity Fraud.
Smith was arrested by Claremont Police Department, Claremont NH and Burgos was taken to DHMC for non life threatening injuries.

2015 UPDATE:
Apparently, videotape footage from the location is disproving the officer's story of self defense, and criminal charges are being leveled.
9/15/2017 UPDATE: Jury Acquits Former Vermont Cop Who Shot Drug Suspect in 2014.
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
