Details: Dennis Dundas was arrested by Vermont State Police and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in April 2015.
Dundas and Donald Giovanella were drinking together at Dundas's Bethel home at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday when a dispute erupted, and Dundas shot Giovanella several times with a handgun.
Police had to use a stun gun on Dundas when he refused to show his hands and walk toward them when commanded.
Police found Giovanella lying on the ground outside the home.
Giovanella underwent surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and has recovered.
On 1/31/17 Dundas was convicted of unlawfully shootig his friend. He could face up to 15 years in prison.
Windsor County Deputy State’s Attorney Heidi Remick stated, “I expect that this gives Mr. Giovanella some comfort. The initial press was all based on the defendant’s story (that Giovanella got violent). The evidence didn’t really bear that out. I hope the verdict helps to set that right.”
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
