Details: A Vermont Department for Children and Families worker, Lara Sobel, was killed by a mother who was angry about losing custody of her 9 year-old child to the state. Two shots from a STOLEN Remington .270 caliber hunting rifle were used to kill Mrs. Sobel in Barre, and her cousins, Rhonda Herring, 48, and Regina Herring, 43, and her aunt, Julie Falzarano, 73, in Berlin. According to WPTZ, "officers learned Jody Herring was denied two gun purchases in Vermont in March." Unlike what Gun Sense and the anti-gun politicians say, background checks ALREADY stop felons from purchasing new firearms, but will NEVER stop someone from simply STEALING one or buying an ILLEGAL one from another criminal. Just like in Arizona, a gun-friendly state like Vermont, the shooter was tackled by witnesses and restrained until police arrived on the scene. NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
