Details: Sultan Rashed of Brattleboro, Vermont, was found shot to death Monday morning (11/9/15) in a parking lot.
Leonard Moffatt was arrested and charged with first degree murder.
"Vermont State Police said they believe Moffatt and Rashed knew each other and had planned to meet on Sunday night at the location in Brattleboro where Rashed was found dead."
From WPTZ: "A witness quoted in the police affidavit said Moffatt regularly purchased cocaine from Rashed on Sunday evenings in that parking lot and Moffatt owed Rashed $10,000 in drug debts."
Judge Katherine Hayes (Windham County Superior Court) "ordered Moffatt held without bail, citing the seriousness of the offense."
The judge noted his extensive "criminal history in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York and Florida, including convictions for domestic violence and multiple failures to appear in court."
ANOTHER CRIMINAL WITH A GUN!
As a side note, look at the gushing comments on the victim, "a great friend and a great provider" (by drug dealing), "He loved and protected his family" (by keeping his family in constant danger by keeping drugs in their home), "Just a happy-go-lucky, really nice guy. Lots of energy" who broke the law, harmed countless families, put his own family in constant danger, and finally paid the ultimate price for his actions.
While the media plays up the victim aspect, the bottom line is Vermont has a DRUG PROBLEM.
Moffat pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Rashed in 2015.
Leonard Moffatt, now 41, of Sharon, will serve a minimum of eight years in prison.
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
