Details: Christopher Brough Sr., 45, of Rockingham, was arrested and charged with taking big game by illegal means, taking deer in closed season and giving false information to a police officer. Brough was sentenced to 6 or 7 days in jail, loss of hunting/fishing/trapping rights for 3 years and the need to take a "remedial hunter ethics course" in order to regain his rights. Brough claimed to have shot the deer with a bow, but the wound was determined to be caused by a bullet. According to the Brattleboro Reformer, "The wardens were able to obtain confessions that on Dec. 5 the deer was shot by Brough with a muzzleloader from inside his vehicle on Rockingham Hill Road in Rockingham. Wardens also discovered that the deer was shot before legal shooting hours and that Brough's son used a flashlight to illuminate the deer from inside the vehicle." ALL of which are illegal in Vermont. |
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it. |
