Details: On 5/7/2016 at approximately 11pm, the Burlington Police Department received calls reporting a man had pointed a firearm at another person.
Police later identified the suspect as Torrey Allard and the victim as Scott Hatin.
Allard apparently threatened Hatin with a firearm after Hatin exited his vehicle to confront Allard about his driving.
Burlington Police Officers recovered a "Umarex Colt Commander CO2 BB gun" from Allard's vehicle. The BB gun is a replica of an actual Colt Commander 1911 firearm.
Mr. Allard was arrested for the crimes of simple assault, reckless endangerment and aggravated disorderly conduct.
According to the BPD report, the charges are listed as:
Title 13 § 1023- Simple assault: A person who is convicted of simple assault shall be imprisoned for not more than one year or fined not more than $1,000.00, or both.
Title 13 § 1025- Recklessly endangering another person: A person who recklessly engages in conduct which places or may place another person in danger of death or serious bodily injury shall be imprisoned for not more than one year or fined not more than $1,000.00 or both.
Title 13 § 1026a- Aggravated disorderly conduct: A person who is convicted of aggravated disorderly conduct shall be imprisoned not more than 180 days or fined not more than $2,000.00, or both
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
