Details: A suicidal man, killed himself after speaking to Plainfield Police officers at his home in East Montpelier. No other details are available, but WCAX is calling it a "standoff." Why is every suicide situation called a standoff? The police are NOT equipped for mental health interventions, they are equipped for LAW ENFORCEMENT. Resolving a mental health situation with crime enforcement techniques never ends well for the subject.
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
