Details: State police were called to a home in Shaftsbury (665 Shaftsbury Hollow Road) on Friday 11/11/16. There the State POlice located two deceased men, Orlanda Fitz, 28, of Shaftsbury, and Trevor Gardner, 38, of Hoosick Falls, NY.
Fitz's body was located on the front yard of the home and Gardner's body was found in a truck with a gunshot wound to the chest that was "consistent with self-inflicted."
Per MassLive, "A 30-30 rifle was recovered in the truck with Gardner's body."
Preliminary results indicate the shooting was apparently sparked by the Fitz's involvement with the shooter's (Gardner) girlfriend.
State Police records indicate that Fitz was arrested in July on drug charges, but was accused of a previous domestic assault by pointing a gun at his ex-girlfriend.
Fitz was under investigation for drug and sex trafficking and charged for selling heroin and cocaine in the Bennington area and for prostitution.
During that previous arrest, 17 firearms were recovered from Fitz.
Fitz was a repeat offender that was prohibited from possessing firearms at the time of this shooting, and NO firearms were found on his body. |
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it. |
