Details: VT Digger: "Vermont State Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Newbury." Police found the bodies of Kenneth Welch, 80, and Barbara Welch, 76, dead of apparent gunshot wounds at their home Monday night. A relative of the couple’s contacted police after getting a call from Kenneth Welch, who said he had shot his wife. Both Kenneth and Barbara Welch were pronounced dead on the scene by local first responders. Police say there is no indication at this time of a third party’s involvement in the incident. The case remains under investigation. Barbara suffered from Alzheimers disease, a condition that reportedly was getting worse. A wheelchair ramp is visible in the news video. A commenter on the original article sums the incident up this way: "the situation has all the hallmarks of the kind of suicide pact that highly decent, responsible people who love each other would enter into when they feel there is no other decent, responsible, and loving option left open to them in our society." WCAX reported, "Family members said both had dementia." On the following Thursday, a low-life broke into the Welch's home and stole several bottles of alcohol and an unknown amount of money.
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it.
