Details: A Colchester High School student was detained by authorities after someone informed the school that he was carrying a gun.
He said he was carrying the gun “as a precaution” and had no intent to use it. "We spoke with him at length," Colchester Police Lt. Doug Allen said. "We wanted to make sure there was no indication of a threat, certainly make sure there was no other firearm in the school that this student felt compelled to bring one. Through our investigation, we found that there had been no threats, no bullying of any kind. It was just something he thought he would bring for his protection." Authorities recovered a "loaded small-caliber handgun." The charge for knowingly carrying a firearm in a school building is a misdemeanor offense. |
NO law will prevent crime. No law will stop criminals from getting guns. Gun Control only effects the law-abiding citizen and the politicians know it. |
