SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
State Police received a report of a stolen handgun belonging to John Driscoll from a residence on Powder Spring Road in Groton on 01/15/2017. Investigation led Troopers to arrest Katelynn Sargent on 01/16/2017 on charges of Grand Larceny, Possession of Stolen Property, and False Information to Police. She was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County court for which she failed to appear. An arrest warrant has been issued for Sargent. A continued investigation led to the arrest of Cody Paquette on 04/30/2017 on charges of Possession of Stolen Property and False Information to Police. A State Police investigation found that Sargent stole the firearm at a party in January. She subsequently provided the firearm to Paquette, a convicted felon, who, at Sargent's request, sold the firearm to an individual in the Burlington, VT area for a quantity of narcotics and cash. Paquette was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia Court on 06/19/2017 on the aforementioned charges. Paquette was found to be on probation with the Vermont Department of Corrections and lodged at the Chittenden County Correctional Center on 04/30/17 for violating numerous conditions of his furlough.
