CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Highgate, Vermont
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On January 30, 2017, just before 6:00 pm the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded to an E911 call in Highgate, where it was reported that an armed home invasion just occurred. The Swanton Police Department also responded to the location as well as AmCare Rescue. The Vermont State Police were subsequently called regarding the investigation into the incident.
The victim reported that the residence was entered by two non-Caucasian males. A weapon was observed by the victim in this incident. There were small items and money taken by the males from the residence. The victim was checked by AmCare Rescue for a reported minor injury, they were not transported for medical treatment.
The initial information indicates that this circumstance wasn’t a random act. The investigation will continue.
The Vermont State Police request that anyone near the area at approximately 6:00 pm who may have observed anything suspicious, or have any information they believe concerns this incident are asked to please contact the Vermont State Police at (802) 524-5993. |
