Details: Rashad Nashid, 37, fired two shots from a Ruger .380 semi-auto into a crowd around 2 a.m. on 2/26/18, striking Chelsi Parker, 26, in the chest.
The incident happened outside Nectar's as the bar was closing. The victim was in critical condition, but survived.
Nashid appeared to be intoxicated at the time his arrest.
Nashid fled the scene but officers apprehended him a short distance away.le on the sidewalk. Police say Nashid is a convicted felon with more than half a dozen felony counts against him, and as such, is not allowed to possess a firearm. He was also awaiting trial on felony narcotics possession charges.
Police determined the motive for the shooting was a dispute over a woman.
Nashid was arrested on 9/15/17 during a drug bust where a loaded .357 Magnum revolver was also recovered.

9/6/18 UPDATE: The other party in the shooting, Carl Martin, 33, of Colchester, had been cited with charges of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and aggravated disorderly conduct.
