Additional Comments: 2014: "The only bill I would consider deal with our strange background check loophole.
In Vermont it is not legal for some sellers to sell to individuals who would fail background checks, but it is okay for other individuals to sell firearms to those same people who could not pass a background check. Most Vermonters would say that was silly.
Imagine if you were 12, a six time DWI offender, or were blind. Who would say it was a good idea to let those people get a license at the flea market?
I'm not a crusader, any I am not considering any other proposals.
Help me out. How would you deal with the double standard in our law? Please give me your best common sense thinking on that specific issue alone. It's the only issue I am considering.
Best regards,
Mark M" 2020: Voted FOR S.169 (bad). |
