"Vermont has a medical marijuana registry... But the relief from state criminalization for medical marijuana use does not protect our citizens from federal law, and our state appears to be providing the names of those on the marijuana registry to the federal government, so that they won’t be able to buy guns — they are on a federal list. Perhaps our governor will also demand a test to ensure gun owners aren’t stoned before he legalizes pot, to stigmatize both marijuana use and gun ownership simultaneously. (There is no restriction on alcoholics owning guns.)

Follow this slanted story about how a gang's "Community Gun" was used to commit dozens of crimes over a six year period. The article calls it a gun problem, NOT a gang problem!
These are the sites of 37 gang-related shootings that involved one gun, a Glock Model 23 .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun, that was used in Syracuse from 2009 until police recovered it last year (2015).
As a side-note, the gun was legally purchased in 1999 in Vermont then stolen.

1/21/15: The (Barton) Chronicle "Medical pot users banned from guns"
Regardless of whatever you are told by the anti-gunners or politicians, signing up for a Medical Marijuana License WILL cost you your rights to posess firearms!
“Therefore, any person who uses or is addicted to marijuana, regardless of whether his or her state has passed legislation authorizing marijuana use for medicinal purposes, is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance and is prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition.”
Medical marijuana users should say yes to question 11 on Form 4473, the letter says.
Form 4473 is the document that must be filled out when a person wants to buy a gun. An untruthful answer to its questions is a crime. Question 11 asks about the person’s criminal history, drug use, citizenship, and more."
ANSWER 'YES' AND YOUR NAME WILL BE ADDED TO THE NICS DENIIAL LIST!
It is ALL about disarming the population via every means and avenue possible.
