TIMELINE OF AN ANTI-GUN ACADEMIC REPORT, Part III:
7/5/2021: PEER-REVIEWED: Firearm purchasing and firearm violence during the coronavirus pandemic in the United States: a cross-sectional study
When the Synopsis starts with: "Firearm violence is a significant public health problem in the United States" you know its anti-gun.

"... we estimated the association between cumulative excess firearm purchases... and injuries (including nonfatal and fatal) from intentional, interpersonal firearm violence (non-domestic and domestic violence)."
WAIT - HOLD IT - JUST A MINUTE.
They compared the LEGAL PURCHASE of firearms against the ILLEGAL USE of ALL firearms (they don't know if ANY newly purchased firearms were used in ANY crimes!)
ANOTHER BULLSHIT ANTI-GUN STUDY. COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES. LEGAL TO ILLEGAL.
Seems college degrees make you stupider... or able to lie without a conscience.
BUT WAIT! There's more!
"Conclusions... At the state level, the magnitude of the increase in purchasing was not associated with the magnitude of the increase in firearm violence."
"Increases in purchasing may have contributed to additional firearm injuries from domestic violence in April and May."
"Results suggest much of the rise in firearm violence during our study period was attributable to other factors, indicating a need for additional research." <<== and THERE you have it. More guns does NOT equal more crime, BUT they want MORE MONEY for more studies that will finally prove the opposite of reality!!
ANTI-GUN ACADEMIC REPORT, Part III - Bullshit analysis that TRIES to prove more guns equals more crime… and FAILS!

4/3/2021: The US saw significant crime rise across major cities in 2020. And it's not letting up
Can you believe CNN let THIS slip into their article??

"Experts point to a "perfect storm" of factors -- economic collapse, social anxiety because of a pandemic, de-policing in major cities after protests that called for abolition of police departments, shifts in police resources from neighborhoods to downtown areas because of those protests, and the release of criminal defendants pretrial or before sentences were completed to reduce risk of Covid-19 spread in jails -- all may have contributed to the spike in homicides."

I'll wager these authors got fired for telling the truth...

A perfect example of what the government does with FIREARM REGISTRATION LISTS!
The population of handgun purchasers were monitored by OUTSIDE PERSONS NOT RELATED TO GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL!
"We conducted a population-based cohort study to compare mortality among 238,292 persons who purchased a handgun in California in 1991 with that in the general adult population of the state. The observation period began with the date of handgun purchase (15 days after the purchase application) and ended on December 31, 1996."

1994: Tennessee Law Review "GUNS AND PUBLIC HEALTH: EPIDEMIC OF VIOLENCE OR PANDEMIC OF PROPAGANDA?"
AN HONEST LOOK AT WHY ANTI-GUN RESEARCHERS SPIN THE FACTS!
"Our focus is the remarkable difference between the way medical and public health writers treat firearms issues and the way social scientists treat those issues. Examination of the literature produced by medical and health writers reveals why their conclusions on firearms diverge so radically from those of criminological scholarship. We focus on that literature's anomalies both for their own sake and because that focus allows us to explore some of the more important policy and legal issues of gun control."
"In 1979 the American public health community adopted the "objective to reduce the number of handguns in private ownership," the initial target being a 25% reduction by the year 2000.
Based on studies... the objective has broadened so that it now includes banning and confiscation of all handguns, restrictive licensing of owners of other firearms, and eventual elimination of firearms from American life, excepting (perhaps) only a small elite of extremely wealthy collectors, hunters, or target shooters. This is the case in many European countries.

THIS IS THE GRANDADDY OF ALL ANTI-GUN GUN CONTROL STUDIES!
Often quoted, debunked by RAND and published in REASON Magazine in 2022.
"One widely influential study that has constantly resurfaced in headlines since it was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1993 concluded that, "rather than confer protection, guns kept in the home are associated with an increase in the risk of homicide by a family member or intimate acquaintance."

There are major problems with this study. First of all, the researchers concluded that keeping a gun at home increases a person's risk of being killed, but nearly half the murders they included in their analysis were not committed with a firearm. And among gun owners who were killed with a gun, the authors didn't establish whether the weapon used was the victim's own gun or if it belonged to another person."
